Why do I feel so misunderstood by everyone?
Teens & Identity
Feeling misunderstood is common during adolescence as you develop your unique identity; finding people who 'get' you takes time but will happen.
Feeling misunderstood is one of the most universal teenage experiences. You're developing your own thoughts, values, and interests, which might be different from your family or current friend group. This can feel isolating and frustrating. Remember that this feeling is temporary. As you get older and have more control over your social circles, you'll find people who understand and appreciate you for who you are. In the meantime, try expressing yourself through writing, art, music, or other creative outlets. Your perspective and experiences are valuable, even if others don't always see it right now.
